I didn't think I had much of a capacity to be shocked any more tbh, but the videos emerging from US of Police brutality (let's call it what it is) are truly shocking, beyond comprehension that this can happen so systemically and seemingly widespread in a democracy. Awful.

Really struck by comments from @HumzaYousaf on GMS this morning where he said “in 99% of my meetings, I’m the only person of colour in the room.” Duty on all us to challenge and change that - @JohnSmithCentre going to step up its game too, more news on that soon.

Reflect on this within my portfolio, how diverse is Justice?

To our shame, there are no Black Members of the Scottish Parliament. There was no Black voice in today's debate on anti-racism, so I wanted to make sure the last words in the debate were the last words uttered by #GeorgeFloyd - never forget them.

Is easy to point out Opposition failures, we have to accept that we've not made enough progress for our minority communities

I've been vocal, as has FM, about fact we must do more to ensure greater BAME representation in Scot Parl & Wminster. SNP NEC meeting this week to discuss, must see concrete, positive action to increase diversity, particularly for BAME females
