Don't usually respond to trolls but many seem to think I & other Muslims are over-hyping the Islamaphobic abuse we receive
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 4, 2018
So here's just tiny example of the violent abuse that's been posted directly on my FB/Twitter or in relation to me in recent yearshttps://t.co/RFUoxQyawH pic.twitter.com/mco04ko2nF

As kind as it is, I don't want or need ppl's sympathy. What I want is for us to continue to call out this abuse. I want politicians & those with a platform to realise their rhetoric has consequences.

On positive note, I'm grateful the voices of good always outweight the bad ❤

Breaking: Scottish Labour MP apologises over offensive remarks about LGBT and Chinese communities https://t.co/sAkuUHMJtj
— Paul Hutcheon (@paulhutcheon) February 7, 2018

This is utterly awful. A simple apology and diversity training does NOT cut it! In fact it is a slap in the face to suggest this absolves him.
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 7, 2018
Hope @LabourRichard takes serious action against Hugh Gaffney. At very least he should be suspended from the party & whip withdrawn. https://t.co/LZxHYucIeh

How must Anas and others in the party feel? A week after Anas bravely spoke out about the racism within his own party this buffoon makes more racist remarks.
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 7, 2018
My understanding is he used word 'chinky'. Imagine an MP used word 'nigger' or 'paki' - would diversity training cut it?!
1:42 PM
Add to that the slur to the LGBTI community. Hugh made these comments to a room of 200ppl! That's how comfortable some are with racism/homophobia
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 7, 2018
I don't know Hugh but with language like that I think he should seriously reflect on whether he should continue as an MP or not.
5:19 PM
Can verify this. Number of Labour MSPs have told me today they're extremely uncomfortable with lack of action from Scottish Labour on this. Attending diversity training won't cut it.
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 7, 2018
If you used racist language at work you'd be out a job. MPs meant to be held to higher standard! https://t.co/sxSwqfslbT

Lot of anger in @scottishlabour over the failure to suspend Hugh Gaffney. Suspicion is his support for UK leader is a factor https://t.co/sAkuUHMJtj

The more I think about the Hugh Gaffney racism/homophobia the more angry I get.
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 7, 2018
Sending him to diversity training is seen as a punishment?! Diversity training should be given to everyoe par the course not seen as a punishment. https://t.co/gWxkCcOhwa

Horrendous stuff. Thanks to colleagues for pitting their head above the parapet on the abuse they face. You have many more supporters than detractors! https://t.co/LHxpRe8CDm

Hi @LabourRichard - when will you take action against @HughGaffneyMP who admitted using a racial slur?
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 11, 2018
Your words are hollow. Easy to talk the talk, however, you will be judged by your actions. So far you have shown you are prepared to tolerate racism, not challenge it. https://t.co/jrkqDccwBS

Hugh Gaffney's local branch tried to pass motion condemning Anas Sarwar in light of him bravely coming forward to speak about racism in the Party 😲
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 11, 2018
Anas rightly received cross-party support for his stance. Why are some in his own party trying to undermine fight against racism? pic.twitter.com/FX1FVhouOm

Hi @jeremycorbyn your Scottish Leader @LabourRichard won't answer my question, so hope you will - did @HughGaffneyMP ever receive Equality Training previously?
— Humza Yousaf (@HumzaYousaf) February 12, 2018
If so, does this not make an utter mockery of so-called punishment handed to him after he made racial/homophobic slurs?

Jeremy Corbyn was right to take action against Tory Ben Bradley's outrageous and libellous claims. And it is a measure of @jeremycorbyn's character that he has asked @bbradleymp to donate a substantial sum to a homeless charity and a foodbank in his own Mansfield constituency.

And yet your MP makes racial slurs and all you do is give him equalities training, which according to many sources he has already received!
