Thank you to Police Scotland for dealing with this incident robustly - utterly depressing to see this divisive thuggery on our streets. Note Glasgow City Council will now take steps to review their procedures on marches & parades and take necessary actions to keep our City safe https://t.co/TuIUOD7zrR

The law requires @GlasgowCC to facilitate marches. Cllrs try very hard to balance public protection & human rights. But last night, thugs obsessed with ancient hatreds used our city to stage an appalling abuse of the right to process and protest. This can’t happen again. pic.twitter.com/xo2AEN3w4T

I am fully supportive of the steps Cllr Aitken & GCC have taken thusfar, and the Scot Govt will be open to discussions with the Council about further action they may wish to take. Yesterday's disgraceful thuggery was frankly the last straw for many in our City. https://t.co/LVwUYPQUSK

A fair bit of discussion about restricting/prohibiting marches. Will of course work with GCC on any proposed action they take. But the blame for yday's disorder lies with the grown men who think it is ok to fight centuries old battles on our streets in 2019. Get a life & grow up!
